View from the Opposition - Chelsea
Up next we have another London derby and enjoy a trip to Chelsea. Not many would have predicted their early season demise and even less so, that they would have ended up another £20million out of pocket by sacking a manger, who this time last year could have argued to be the best or at the very least one of the top 3 managers in the world.

After a revival under their current interim manager some of their fans now have an eye on an outside chance of a top 4 spot.

After an enjoyable 2-1 back in October at Upton Park, West Ham are in a rich current run of form, we now travel to Stamford Bridge buoyed with optimism of getting a good result.

This week we welcome 2 more fans. V being our very own “AKA Enrie”’s better half and she has been a season ticket holder for 40 years and Sean is a lifelong supporter of Chelsea.

What your views are of your season so far and how you think the rest of the season will go?

V - Where do you start? Pre season was a disaster and it was all downhill from there.
We lost two more of our key players (Drogba and Cech) in the close season. Our transfer policy for replacing them was a shambles (jumping up and down shouting ‘we want Stones – sell us Stones’ was never going to work). Without a strong spine and players of character we have crumbled. We’ve endured Eva gate, Costas tantrums, Jose’s meltdown and a complete loss of form. It’s a relief to be in the top half of the table and not facing a relegation battle. Our season is over so I just hope it goes quickly……..
S - The season has finished hasn’t it?

Southend, Birmingham ,yourselves amongst many others are known simply as the Blues ,quite Boring and unoriginal tbh what was the matter with 'the Pensioners ' too good for that? at least it was original don’t you think? (eswing hammer)

V - At my age being the Pensioners would be too much of a reminder of how the years are passing! Besides which have you ever tried scanning “Pensioners’ into a chant?
If it helps we normally separate ourselves from the other Blues with the word “Super’ or “Champions’. Only team in London to win the European Cup also works…….

S - Good point, wish we would have thought of something that was more apt, a bit like West Ham being nicknamed after a massive tool.

With the money clubs have to spend now becoming more evenly distributed, do you think your days as a top 3 London club are now inevitably running out? (Alwaysaniron)

V - The Sky money, and fair play rules, have certainly made for ‘interesting times’. Let’s see – we have a high enough profile after the last few years to attract a top manager and some top players. Equally, global recognition will be even more important in the next few years in generating more and more investment. Touching though your concern is, I don’t think it’s over yet.

S – First off I’d like to say hats off to your commitment to being a homosexual 24/7 as your user name suggests rather than these fair weather gays. I’m not one bit concerned about all this money coming into the game next season, we are still Roman Abramovich richer than the smaller clubs like the West Broms, Sunderlands and West Hams of this world.

Do you think your squad is massively underperforming this season, or were they massively over performing last season? (El Scorchio)

V - Both! The cracks were evident last season, no more so that after our drubbing at the hands of Rottenham and the FA Cup catastrophe that was Bradford. Jose battened down the hatches and parked the bus. Horrible to watch but effective. Combined with the amazing incompetence of the teams around we were pretty surprised to win the league.
This season is well documented. We lost a few key players, a few more have dramatically lost form, and the spineless, overpaid arseholes that are left haven’t bothered to turn up for work.

S - Underachieved last season as we only won two trophies.

How did it feel when you realised your own players were throwing matches in order to get your favourite all time manager the sack? (cholo)

V - You assume that they gave enough of a toss to be bothered to deliberately lose. The likes of Hazard and Costa are not fit to wear the shirt. I am happy to drive both to their next destination as long as it’s far far away from south west London.

S - Probably similar to how you feel knowing a club that went out of business (Wanderers) in 1887 is one place below you in a league table of most successful clubs in English football. Chelsea by the way are 4th, not bad for a team formed in 2003.

Exactly how special was 'The Special One'? Considering all it took was a win over Sunderland for you to dry your eyes and return to dribbling over the badge-slapping mercenaries who forced him out.( Stranded)

V - He was three premierships, two Carling Cups, and two FA Cups Special. He was the man that shaped and disciplined the greatest team that has graced my club. In 45 years of supporting the Chelsea I never expected to experience the highs of the last thirteen years. However, he was a ‘flawed genius’ – at times arrogant, aggressive and abrasive with his own staff as well as the media. Cringeworthy on occasion but love him, or hate him, a club Legend.
The aftermath of his leaving has divided the fans. Do you support the man or the club? Does that include supporting those who have been identified as being apart of his demise? I know where I stand (see above)

S - I can probably only compare it to West Ham fans the day after West Ham parted company with Sam Allardyce, a sad, sad day for all concerned I’m sure you will all agree.

After making the last 4 FA Youth cup finals and winning 3, Do you care that barely any English or academy players make it into the first team, or does this not worry you as long as you see success and trophies? ( El Scorchio & Rossai))

V - As you point out our youth policy has been pretty successful over the past few years. It has been frustrating to see quality players (De Bruyne and Lukaku particularly come to mind) who have got fed up wating for their chance and have moved on to become successful elsewhere. To be fair Zouma, Traore and Loftus Cheek have made some inroads into the first team this year. Hopefully the new boss will rebuild with a blend of youth and a few older ‘safe’ hands. Let’s see if he’s allowed the time and space to do that.

S - It gives me great satisfaction knowing we supply half of the English football league and Holland with our youth prospects. It gives me even greater pleasure winning trophies.
Do you care that you have made zero Youth Cup final appearances since your greatest ever achievement in the last three decades was beating Coventry 9-0 on aggregate in the 1999 Final?

Do you think relegation next season will do you good, to rebuild from scratch and get rid of some of the new glory hunting fans that have squeezed out your 8,000 loyal fans? (Lily Hammer)

V - Seems a bit drastic but, given your recent experiences in the Championship, do you find it effective? If we do follow your advice we promise to send some of the ‘tourists’ over to you at the Olympic Stadium. I hear that you’ve even decided to write “London’ on your badge so that they have a better chance of remembering who you are.
S – Funny you should ask actually as when I was asked to do a Q & A for a West Ham website I thought who better to ask about relegation than West Ham fans.

Where were you when you were good ? (Mace66)

V - At the Allianz watching Chelsea beating Bayern Munich on their own turf in the Champions League Final.
Appreciate you may have missed it. Believe you were playing Blackpool in the Championship that day?

S - Chasing you.

Hockey, lacrosse or polo? Which was your favourite sport before you found out football existed in 2003? (Fifth Column)

V - Am contemplating whether to first trample you with my horse and then smash your arse with my hockey stick or whether I should first google what torture a lacrosse stick can sustain before deciding

S - Connect Four and Drafts

Is this the worst season in your 13 year history? (Marston Hammer)

V - I am thinking that you maybe taking an enlightened 21st Century viewpoint and defining history as anything within the same century? Admirable! I totally approve of as it will totally shut up the whining Bin Dippers and stop you guys bleating on about some tenuous connection to England winning the World Cup sixty years ago.
At the risk of being rude I should point out that we won the FA Cup in 2000 so our C21 ‘history” started then. Hope you manage to join us sometime soon. Remember to tip the cleaning lady well. The dust and tumbleweed that must have gathered on the shelves of that empty trophy cabinet…..

S - Yes by far, 15 trophies in 13 years just won’t do.

Why did you boo Anton Ferdinand and Wayne Bridge who did nothing other than be victims of the underhand, thuggish behaviour of your captain? (Saul; Bollox)

V - If going out with your mate’s ex was a crime I’ve seen enough of “Made in Essex’ to know that you guys have no place taking the moral high ground. The only victim in all this was Toni Terry. I promise you we don’t boo her.

S - It’s not John Terrys fault his mates missus tripped and landed on his cock. And with Anton Ferdinand, well at least he was an opposition player and not a young academy prospect coming through the ranks whose Dad was our assistant manager.

has the Adam Johnson trial bought back any memories of when your club supported and continued to employ kiddie fiddle Graham Rix even after he went to prison? (Eggbert Nobacon)

V - No it hasn’t but thanks for asking (and you forgot to give Clive Walker a mention)

S – Says a fan of a club that signed a convicted racist thug in Lee Bowyer.

Letting black people onto trains - good or bad idea? (Lovejoy)

V - Trains? Are they a form of public transport? I have no idea of the etiquette on such devices. My chauffeur drives me everywhere.

S - Depends on how busy the train is and what John Terry song I’m singing at the time!

What did you think of the video of west hams allowing a black supporter on the train? (Laindon Hammer18)

V - Acting ability straight out of “Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels” – got the joke though.

S - How empty the train was and what a lack of John Terry songs being sung at the time.

Do you have a blue flag and where do you keep it ? (Whoicidal Maniac)

V - It’s no secret that the blue flag has been missing for much of the season. Given your fans preoccupation with the matter, I wonder if it’s still stuck up your arse? When you remove it could you check to see of Fabregas’ magic hat is up there? He would like it back.

S - Up my arse, up my arse, I keep my blue flag up my arse.

What are your thoughts on West Ham and our fans?

V - It’s not so long ago that I don’t remember the years of hoping for a good cup run or top half league finish, and the subsequent disappointment when it invariably fell apart. You’ve had some difficult years with the fleecing Icelanders and the boredom of Fat Sam. Finally, you have a decent football manager (and man) and some decent players to build a team around. I hope for your sake that the Dildo Twins allow Bilic to spend money and add quality to the squad. Good times could be ahead.
As for the fans – you are a right moaney bunch (I know – I live with one!)

S - Mainly violent and catastrophe based.

What Player do you have that would make our first 11 and what west ham player would you like to see in a Chelsea shirt?

V - Willian would grace any premiership team. Skillful player, with pace. Unselfish. Dead ball specialist and character wise only one of a small number who can hold his head up high at the end of this season. Payet. No brainer. And if you’ve got any more ‘fan’ rejects like Fat Boy Lampard please just send them our way.

S - I’d say Peter Osgood could probably still make the West Ham team and Bobby Moore could still probably do a job for Chelsea.

Would you rather 4th in the Premiership or to win the FA Cup?

V - With apologies to Wenger – FA Cup every time – cracking day out and it goes into history (no medals for being 4th).

S - We’ve won the FA Cup quite a few times in the last decade so let’s see why Arsene Wenger is so obsessed with finishing 4th every year.

These questions are from our man u fans from last weeks VFO

H - I have been puzzled by this for years but have never met a Chelsea fan to ask them this question. Even though he is obviously a wanker, do you actually like John Terry??

V - Believe you are referring to “JT – CAPTAIN, LEADER, LEGEND’ ? You can’t question his commitment to the team, or his footballing brain. He has been a motivator, a leader and has consistently put his body on the line for Chelsea. We would not have enjoyed the last sixteen years without his presence.
Would I want to be friends with him? Probably not..

S - I find that hard to believe seeing as you’re from Surrey.

S - When United rejected Falcao and you took him on, how bitter are you now that we were right?

V - We never doubted you were right. Someone in the club took a huge bung to take him on (or were stupid and arrogant enough to think they could turn things around).

S - Think we should’ve learned our lesson after the John Obi Mikel debacle, oh and Juan Sebastien Veron, oh and Mark Bosnich. NB – Never buy shit off United anymore

What are your favourite crisps?

V - Obviously never seen ‘Made in Chelsea’ – do we look like we eat crisps?!

S - Salt & Vinegar McCoys

Up next we have Crystal Palace, what question would you like us to ask their fan?

V - Alan Pardew – hero or zero? Started well, even touted as possible England manager but appears to have lost it. Just not that great a manager or shagging the captain’s wife (again….)

S - How often on average per hour of every day do you watch the DVD of Crystal Palaces’ most famous victory, against Chelsea last August?

And finally your prediction for the game?

V - Our season is effectively over so I predict that a fair number of Chelsea fans may well find it difficult dragging themselves out of the pub. The ones that make it to the ground will take great delight in reminding you of who we were playing when Frankie Lampard scored his milestone 200th goal. As for the score – not a Scooby but I fear the worst.

S - Chelsea 2 West Ham 1

I like S.

That's just how Chelsea fans should be. Totally clueless except for one thing - Chelsea have won stuff.

Even if he's not quite sure what they've won.

Sean is clearly a post-Euro '96er.

What an embarrassing, clueless, newbie fan.

Read the first two and wasn't going to waste anymore time on reading drivel from a mong, sorry to Ernies Mrs as she at least sounded sensible and you don't often put those words against anything connected with the whores from Stamford bridge.

Stupid cunt obviously got battered a few times in the past and hard to hide yourself in those 6,000 crowds!

Cheers Madeeasy. Fine work as ever.

Ernie's wife is pretty funny. Some decent answers there.

Yep, Mrs Ernie sounds down to earth. Obviously got a bit of West Ham in her.....not neccessarily as I speak, mind you, but you know what I nudge nudge wink wink.

Sean is a proper slack jawed lack of class, I almost feel sorry for him. And he used to chase us, did he? I suggets the only thing he might have chased in the east end is the dragon.
